SPECIES
Panthera leo
FATRO "WILDLIFE" COLLECTION 2010
The lion is a carnivore belonging to the Felidae family. After the tiger, it is the largest of the four "Big Cats" of the genus Panthera. Its area, which extended in ancient times to most of Eurasia and Africa, is today limited almost exclusively to Subsaharan Africa; the continual impoverishment of its natural habitat and the continuation of damaging poaching, make it a vulnerable species.
